Goodwin, Philip

Philip Goodwin was a painter of the North woods. He lived with his subjects and shared their life. Goodwin believed in conservation and painted the wilderness as he wanted it preserved. His work appeared in magazines and books including the early editions of Jack London’s Call of the Wild and Theodore Roosevelt’s African Game Trails. For almost 30 years many of Goodwin’s finest and most memorable sporting, wildlife and western paintings appeared on Brown & Bigelow calendars.
